So I’ve been seeing these glittered images and text on Etsy and elsewhere, and I finally figured out how to do it with help from a Facebook Group. I’m using my Pazzles Pro 2010 software but I’m sure this will work in the InVue software too. Step 1: There’s a couple ways to get glitter images, you can Google glitter image, select a color or search for a specific color, then download that image, save to your desktop. Or you can purchase Glitter Digital Paper which I did from Etsy and I’m sure there are many websites where you can get digital papers. Step 2: After you download your images, unzip and place them on your desktop and save into folders by color or however you want to name your folders. Step 3: Open your Pazzles Software, go to File, Import, Import image, find it on your desktop where you saved your folders, select a glitter color, open. Step: 4 Select a vector image from your library or make one yourself, you can also use text.
Then un-fill your text or image. Step 5: Place the text or vector image over your glitter image.
You can use any color outline, I used a dark color so you could see it. If you want to print and cut use a matching color, unless you want the outline to print. Step 6: Select both pieces, go to Image, Crop, select Personal Path, click on the text, a box will come up saying “Include region in bitmap” click on No. (If you select Yes you will get the opposite effect). Click on the text or image and move over, now your text will be glittered. Step 7: Cool, right!
(It doesn’t show in the image above but I have a strange dotted black outline around my word, if you print it or save as a jpg it won’t show up). Step 8: If you want to print and cut, make sure you print first, then put the vector text over the text or image so you can cut it. Or if you want the outline to print place before you print it.
Step 9: If you want a different effect, select Yes instead of No when it asks you “include region in bitmap”. There are so many possibilities with digital papers, glitter or patterned. Download Driver Graphic Card For Windows Xp here. Have fun and experiment with images too.
There was some questions on Facebook about how to save Silhouette files and use them with your Pazzles software. I figured it out, so I hope this helps. Open your Silhouette software (this will work for either version). Go to your grid on the far top right of your screen and de-select “Show Grid” this will give you a blank workspace. (If you have the grid on, it will show the grid and you don’t want to trace that when you get into your Pazzles software). Select any design, from the library, one you bought or made, and fill and line color with black. (It traces better when it’s black).
Then use a snipping tool, either the Snipping Tool in Windows (search for this if you can’t find it) or I use FastStone Capture. (De-select the image and use the smallest window you can get otherwise is will copy to your Pazzles software and you’ll have lines you don’t need).
Save it as a jpg or png. Then open your Pazzles software (either version will work for this too). Go to File, Import, select the file and open it. Go to Image, Interpolation, Standard, click ok. (This will make you jpg bigger without losing pixels). Then do an Auto Trace and now you have your Silhouette file in your Pazzles software.
• Unpack your box and read all the inserts. Make sure everything is inside. • Look over the manual, but don’t go to far or you’ll become overwhelmed with all there’s to learn.
(Remember babies crawl before they walk). • If everything is in your box, find a good spot for your Pazzles, you will need some room behind your machine because the mat goes a ways in back when it’s cutting. • Once you find your spot, plug it into your computer and wall outlet. (Make sure you have a good UBS cord).
If you ever have problems try a new USB cord. • Put the blade in the blade holder, and insert it into the Pazzles. • Take your mat and write TOP or FRONT on the plastic covering. (Always put this plastic sheet on when not in use, it’ll keep it clean. Always store your mat flat or hanging). • Cure your mat. Leaving the plastic cover on, take a credit card or scraper and rub over the whole mat.
• Now take off the plastic cover and put your hand flat on the mat several times, next take a piece of scrap card stock and press on your mat and take off. Do this several times. (This will help make your mat not so sticky). (To refresh the sticky on your mat use a baby wipe, or wash it with soap and water, let it dry before you re-use it. If you need more sticky on it, use the Zig wide glue stick (this is what I use), or Aleene’s Tack It Over and Over, use 1 part water to 1 part glue, then paint in on, tape the sides so you don’t get glue on that or it will gum up your rollers. It’s recommended not to use spray glue, if you do, tape the edges of your mat, and spray outside, you DON’T want spray on your Pazzles machine or workspace.
